Plan to linger with each verse for a while before moving on to the next. Adoration, the Eucharist and the sacrament of reconciliation being a part of this process.
I'm excited to participate in this thank you for suggesting it and may we grow into a vessel useful for the majesty of God. I'm also reading the interior castle by St Theresa of Avila It seems to somehow show a path of going deeper into complete consecration. As she says it's not our own doing none of it but an alignment to the giver of transformed life. Scripture received with humility and faith is always profitable not only for our own souls but the world around us. This is the point. Not just personal growth but the sharing of loaves and fishes in a plane unseen by human perceptions but in the spirit. We are bead broken and shared if the life of Christ is in us. And it is. Praises to His Majesty
This passage is so beautiful and Isaiah a beloved prophet. The gift of my broken protestant life was a love for scriptures and leaning into them. The transformation power was there is those living words but to be fully unleashed obedience to the rest of the truth is necessary. This included fellowship with the Eucharist
I was taught add nothing to the gospel. And we don't need priests because we are priests ( except women in my protestant sect were second class and needed a male covering or they'd lead others to deception. Weak vessel and all sorts of propaganda presuppositions... We in fact added death to the gospel and misogyny.
Mary changes all that. She elevated all of humanity by participating in the redemption of humanity. In weakness and humility is her strength and ours.
Oh how I can relate to what you share here, Caroline. Yes! That transformation power is what led me into the Church, as my hunger and thirst for Jesus just gew and grew. And indeed it is unleashing more and more now as I grow in grace and truth within the Church - and I have only just begun that part of the journey.
I am so sorry for the abuses you endured. So thankful, together with you, for the humbling and healing presence of our Mother Mary. Grateful to be on this journey, together with you.
