June Poetry and Prayer
A Holy Overshadowing
Welcome to June’s poetry and prayer.
A Holy Overshadowing "I'm ready to go Send me," you say And you wait For adventure. Surely, It's yours. But He tells you "Sit here, My child Dwell in My shelter My shadow, Sweet place of retreat. In Me." "But, but, but," You cry "I'm ready to go I'm ready to go Send me." "See here My covering," He speaks. "See here My wings, I've stretched. Keeping you close. Keeping you safe." "But, but, but," You cry "I'm ready to go I'm ready to go Send me." "But I have, My child," He speaks "See the dark of My shadow Darkness My covering, Canopy around Me." (c.f. Psalm 18) "They look and see Darkness of covering Punished of God Stricken by Him Afflicted and poor (c.f. Isaiah 53). But open your eyes and see: Blessed is He who comes In the Name of the Lord. "For I'm on the move, Covering you. Not holding you back But sending you through Into the wilderness To speak tenderly to you To turn your Valley of Achor Into a doorway of hope. "Adventure is yours Discovering now Each morning anew More of My washing Cleansing your inner cup I’m perfecting My power In weakness Turning darkness To light In a holy Overshadowing My presence Your portion becoming My nearness Your shield in the darts Light uncovering In My countenance Love bequeathing.
Psalm 143:8 NRSVCE
Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning,
for in you I put my trust.
Teach me the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul.

This whole poem touches me so deeply. But this last stanza just meets me where I am right now. I've been here before, but even tho the place may be different now, His presence comes in the morning still, overshadowing. Thank you dear Anna for sharing your heart from the Lord with us.
